Preparation

What to Bring

A few essentials can help make your group ride more comfortable and enjoyable.

  • A well-maintained bicycle suited to road or gravel paths
  • Helmet — required on New Zealand roads under applicable road rules
  • Water bottle and light snacks for longer routes
  • Weather-appropriate clothing and a light windbreaker
  • Basic repair kit: spare tube, pump, and multitool
  • Front and rear lights for early morning or evening rides

Meeting Point and Pace Guidelines

Meeting Location

Rides begin at the Whanganui Riverbank Pavilion, 2 Plymouth Street area. Arrive 15 minutes early for a brief group briefing.

Look for ride leaders wearing Radianttrcleanse vests near the pavilion entrance.

Pace Guidelines

Leisure rides maintain 12–15 km/h. The group stays together with regroup points every 5 km.

Ride leaders set the tempo. If you need to slow down, signal to a leader and the group will adjust at the next stop.
